About

Our Story

We are an integrated energy development and investment company formed in 2012 as FirstPower Energy Texas LLC.

Since our first 16 MW project in New Jersey in 2014, we now have projects in development totaling over 200 MWs and growing in New York, New Jersey, and Texas.

We purchased our first 10 MW/20 MWhr battery energy storage service system in 2019 and are negotiating for additional systems for integration into Texas markets by Q1 2025.

Over the past 20 years, our founders closed over $500 MM in energy infrastructure including oil and gas production, fossil power generation and transmission, and retail electricity and natural gas sales.

In 2009, with JV partner, EDF USA, our founders founded Cavallo Energy Texas LLC, a leading energy electric retail provider with over 2,000 MWs of sales operating from from 2009 to 2015. The Company was sold to Calpine in 2015.

We have exited many fossil based investments over the recent past and are now focused on renewable investments that reduce our carbon footprint.

Meet Our Management Team

Phil Gennarelli
Chief Development Officer

Over 30 years of experience in energy trading and business development. At BP/Amoco he led the management team creating the largest energy trading company in North America at the time.

Developer of traditional and renewable energy infrastructure in the US and International markets. including power generation, storage, transmission, distribution and retail services. Holder of battery patents for low voltage energy storage in urban environments.
Mr. Gennarelli received his Professional Engineer license in Illinois, an MBA from Illinois Institute of Technology, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University.

David Walden
Chief Operations Officer

Over 30 years of experience in power generation and utility management. He led distribution engineering at Southern California Edision and Edison International. At Southern California Public Power Authority, he directed over 3,000 MWs of renewable energy deployment and integration, the first of its kind in the US.

He has developed over 200 MWs of real-time demand-side load management, micro-grid applications, and battery energy storage in US and International markets. More recently, as Director of Systems Engineering for Enphase, one of the largest solar inverter companies in the world. Mr. Walden has a BS of Electrical Engineering and Physics from University of Redlands.

Benny Jay
Chief Technology Officer

Over 40 forty years experience in research, development and manufacturing, project management, commercial and military, domestic and international business development.

Holder of several advanced-battery manufacturing patents in the US.

While at a a major US manufacturing company, he increased market capitalization by 2200% within two years after listing and was recognized as one of the 100 fastest growing U.S. public companies in 1994.

Over 30 years of engineering and construction experience focusing on worldwide oil and gas production, and emerging renewable infrastructure in wind, solar, and energy storage.

Cofounded Strategy Engineering and Consulting of Houston, Texas in 2009 with current personnel over 100. Mr. Stuart is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
